Pulitzer Center Justice Fellowship
Chosen as one of two Justice Reporting Fellows for the Pulitzer Center.
My reporting for this project is focused on women in the criminal justice system. In my writing, I will be highlighting the case of Erika Ray from Chicago. Though the court and everyone agrees that she did not commit the crime, she was convicted under the theory of accountability. While following this story, I will investigate how such legal principles unjustly put women in prison.

One Book One Northwestern Photo Contest - 2nd Place
This photo was submitted to the "Images in Climate Change" photo contest, meant to connect with the themes of this year's One Book selection, The Story of More, by Hope Jahren.
"The subject of this long exposure image is a print of an Egyptian landscape that I captured on my very first hot air balloon ride, the beauty of which has been emblazoned in my memory ever since. The worsening effects of climate change, like frequent forest fires, jeopardize these breathtaking sights and our existence within them. If we fail to act now, we're subjecting ourselves to a haunting reality in which we, like the human subjects in this image, are erased, leaving behind the bare hollows of what used to be a bountiful natural world."
